Oncore
shopkeeper Patricia writes: We
are the only home consignment shop in Wilkes Barre Pa. We opened in
September of 2007. We strive to make everyone feel welcome as if
they are stepping into our own home. We display our merchandise as
you might in your own home, pulling like items together with unique
accents. We have exclusive rights to sell The Hearth Table from Finn
Fine Furniture always a conversation piece.
Suellen's
Secret, Pensacola FL, is in an historic district. The
interior shot is from
May 2006, just ready to open. Suellen and her husband live above the
store!
This
is the entry into Revente, Deb McD's shop in Columbia, South Carolina. Doesn't it
look tempting!
Sid
& Nancy is Deb's new shop near Revente, specializing
in the younger, hipper,
high-school and college crowd.
It opened Spring 2007.
"Here's a view of Wear it again, Sam in Rapid City SD. The shadows are from the signature daisies on the door. Anchoring the swing shop with an area rug was a tip I picked up in Cincinnati NARTS fall seminar." Janis
(Kate says: Notice that her display is attractive from all 4 sides!)
And this play area is from the-other-Janis'
Texas shop, The Young
and the Restless. For a shot
of why this country needs child labor laws, go to Shopkeeping
Fun.
Here's
another Texas shop, Small Changes
Kids in Houston, sent in by Cheryl Corbett. Note how well the white
window lettering stands out!
"Colleen here
from Echo Trends in Canada.
This is a pic of one of my employees at our cash
counter. This pic was taken with my cell phone so it isn't great but I
guess it will do. I love that you are doing this...it give others
ideas."
This
is Jada's shop, Take Two in North Carolina "We carry items for the whole family
from
preemie
to plus sizes."
Staci Way of Way Classy Consignment, in Florida:
"We
are decorated for Christmas here. I'm in the photo
with the mannequin (Staci) and my mom Alice is in the photo with the
Christmas tree and table. We try to utilize the space
of the shop since
its only 850 sq feet."
"I opened Little Hearts
in Russell, KY on May 2, 2005. It's a children, infants and maternity consignment shop. That is me cutting the
ribbon held by my mom, Angie and my husband, Scott. And the cutie is my daughter, Sydney. She comes to
work with me every day. She's the security guard," writes Tiffany Hixon.
Jen
Kubala sends these shots of her shop: "Ritzy Ragz
& Thingz,
Modesto CA is about 1400 sq. ft. I've owned it
with Sharon Stencil since January 2005. We hope to move to a bigger spot soon or have a second
location. One of the old non-working partners can't believe the sales since I took over. He owned it
for 2
years before I
took over and prior to that it was really just a junk
shop for 2 years."

My
Sister's Closet in Missoula, Montana, owned by Becky W, has a
wonderful color scheme, don't you
agree? In the middle photo, you can see the logo designed over the
internet, which we Sharers helped decide on!
And
this is The
Little Consignment Shop, Bloomington, IN Carole McCune & Meg
(who works there daily)
Sass
is Jana Foehrenbach's new incarnation of her shop which she opened
in 2004. I love the wall patterns, and that they are altered from
area to area. Pretty sassy, you ask me! Jana's shop's in Calgary AB
Canada.

"I am on Main Street with a quilt shop, a florist/gift shop, frame
shop that carries gifts and the Hispano Chamber of Commerce, office supply store and shoe store. In March I will have a great draw for foot traffic right next door,
The Alien Encounter. It draws the tourists during our annual UFO Festival
over the Fourth of July Holiday in celebration of the 1947 UFO crash just outside
Roswell.
Cathy
writes: "Here at Trumans Fine Consignment
we have gone to a predominately Teen store. The girls who work for me
did a collage of
pictures from teen and fashion magazines in our consignment area.
My niece
painted girls shopping for a border.
We
have also been doing our displays by color, and have set up a speed
bump as you first come in. We are getting rave reviews!"
Patty Hulce and

Nancy writes in
January 2005: "The Exchange in Lake Wales,
FL has 2000
sq ft. on the main floor plus our wedding room and two storage
areas. We carry ladies', including formal and wedding gowns,
men's,
children's and small home decor. We have been busy redecorating and
playing on a purple theme.
Hurricane Charley took our awning so we are replacing with a purple
one."
Betcha
can't guess whose shop this is. Wendy Sam's.
It's a great shop. You never have to straighten the racks.
Serendipity
owners
Julie Buckman and Cyndi Arwood say: "Our
name fits because people are so tickled to find a consignment store
right in the middle of
a touristy area. We opened January 2005."
